At Aker Solutions we are committed to helping the energy industry and broader society #PowerTheChange towards a low-carbon future.
We are changemakers and problem solvers with more than 180 years of experience. Our ambitions are high. By 2030, renewables and low-carbon solutions for oil and gas will make up two-thirds of our business. Do you want to be a part of driving the transition?

With 4,000 employees globally, Life Cycle is a significant part of Aker Solutions' workforce. The largest locations are the engineering offices in Stavanger, Bergen, and Trondheim.

Life Cycle takes care of energy installations from production start to finish. The core business involves modification and maintenance of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities, electrification of existing facilities, and exploring the offshore maintenance market for the renewable sector.

The strategic direction is to help customers reduce their carbon emissions and maximize the potential of their mature resources. Simultaneously, there is work on feasibility studies related to renewable energy, hydrogen, carbon capture, and offshore wind at our locations in Stavanger, Bergen, and Trondheim. Among our clients are leading companies such as Equinor, OKEA, Vår Energi, ConocoPhillips, and Aker BP.

We are involved in several major projects, including Troll West electrification, Mongstad Waste Water, Draugen electrification, Brasse-to-Brage tieback, Skarv satellite, Balder FPSO, Jotun FPSO and the Åsgaard portfolio.

In addition to the modification projects the segment has several framework agreements for modification and maintenance for Equinor, Shell, OKEA, and Vår Energi.

To strengthen our team and achieve our ambitions we need more engineers within the Technical Safety discipline at our locations in Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Kristiansund.

What you will be doing?
  • Be engaged in engineering tasks across multiple study phases including Front End, Conceptual, and FEED, and contribute to both maintenance & modification as well as decommissioning projects.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards to ensure activities meet compliance requirements
  • Advance and refine current processes and design strategies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Evaluate potential risks associated with different engineering solutions through both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods.
  • Lead technical safety reviews and perform rigorous safety verifications to maintain and improve project integrity
  • Develop and maintain critical safety documentation, including escape route plans, hazardous area layouts, fire and gas detection schematics, fire protection data sheets, and systems for both active and passive fire protection.

We are seeking candidates who bring a strong educational background and specific professional experience to the table. Ideal applicants for our team should have the following qualifications:
  • Higher technical education, with degrees at the bachelor's and master's levels.
  • A minimum of 5 years' professional experience, particularly in roles that demand deep technical expertise.
  • Substantial knowledge of offshore installations and the unique operational and regulatory requirements they entail.
